Slogans that Stick

Earlier this week, I walked past my co-worker Olivia’s office and noticed her snacking from a can of Pringles®. I immediately thought to myself, “Once you pop, you can’t stop.” That got me thinking.

First of all, I realized that’s probably not even the product’s slogan anymore (currently it’s “Everything pops with Pringles”). So why did the old slogan instantly pop into my head? Effective (previous) marketing efforts, I suppose.

Second, I began thinking about all the products I instantly relate to a slogan. I must be subconsciously doing this with other products without even realizing it. Here are a few others that automatically pop into my head when I hear the product/company name:

Kay: Every kiss begins with Kay

McDonald’s: I’m lovin’ it

Milk: Got milk?

Nike: Just do it

Pork: The other white meat

Water: The original energy drink (that one actually comes from another Z2 employee, Pete)

Now I’m curious to hear some of yours. Please share!

The funny thing about the McDonald’s, Milk, Nike, and even the Pork slogans you mentioned is that, I’ve heard all of those applied to *other* things, typically for comedic effect.

The Water slogan is just plain good, and the fact that I say it every chance I get makes it repetitive, and that makes it stick in your head.

“The best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup!” :)

The funny thing about slogans is how not not true all the time. LIKE… “The best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup!”… Seriously if that is the best part of my day then I’m in trouble!!!!

I personally like “inspired” (that be z2′s)

Agreed, Cory. Puppyworld’s (pet shop in Milwaukee) slogan is, “When you have a puppy, nothing else matters!” I always recite that to myself when I’m having a bad day and it makes me laugh. :)

    Hungry? Why wait.

Although now, it’s “You’re not you when you’re hungry”

I never think of that, though.
