All About Deb

Our z2 interviews continue, with one of our faithful leaders.

As a Principal and Creative Director, Deb does, well, pretty much everything.

Most unique experience during a z2 workday?

It is usually something at one of our annual retreats. I won’t be specific to protect the guilty. *Cough, Cough, Mario.*

What’s your favorite Wisconsin activity, pastime or place?

Biking through the state trails. We do the Bugline Trail and The Wild Goose State Trail.

Where is your favorite place you’ve ever visited?

There are two places that have been my favorite – China and Italy. We visited China for 10 days when we adopted Mei Lin. The experience was overwhelming, but amazing. We visited the Great Wall, a panda reserve, an acrobat show. We even took a rickshaw to a local Chinese family’s home where they invited us to have lunch with them. The whole home was probably 500 square feet, but they welcomed all of us so graciously. FullSizeRender

Years before that I traveled with my dad to Italy. That trip was the pinnacle moment for one of my passions – art and art history. I remember touring a church. I was walking through a very narrow hallway and when I turned the corner there was a Michelangelo sculpture inches from me. The sun was at the perfect angle streaming through a small window and illuminating the sculpture as if it was alive. It was stunning. I’ll remember that moment always.

 Ninjas vs. Pirates.  Discuss.

Ninjas, because they are stealth and powerful. And they wear much better outfits – black is slimming.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

A puppy; they don’t have a care in the world.  (Pictured here is their family dog, Max)

Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life?

Good grief. I don’t know. People have said Jennifer Aniston, but I think Jennifer Lawrence.

What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?

Depends on the mood I’m in, but let me look (pulls out her iPhone). I have a very eclectic mix of music. Flo Rida, Journey, Sam Smith, James Blunt, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Usher, 50 Cent, Christina Perri.

(Interviewers note: She proceeds to play “Low” by T Pain. Totally didn’t see that coming.)
