All About Jess

Our tour around the office continues, and we’re jumping into PR today. Jess has been a welcome addition and quickly dived into her role when our PR Director went on maternity leave. Jess can typically be found making a sarcastic jab or cheering someone up. And, if you’re looking for fashion advice, she’s a go-to.

Describe a “typical day” for you at z2:

No day is the same, which I love. I usually get in around 8:30 and make coffee right away. It’s necessary. Then, I sit down and check my email to see if there is anything  urgent I need to respond to right away. From there, I prepare my to-do list for the day, schedule any social posts for clients and do any pitching that may be on the calendar. The rest of my day is peppered with client calls, internal and client meetings, writing pitches and press releases, monitoring social channels, impromptu brainstorming meetings in our Café and more.

And no week is complete without a Cosmo Friday at our bar. It’s fun to work hard all week and then celebrate your accomplishments with your team!

What’s your favorite Wisconsin activity, pastime or place?

When I was growing up we would go camping in Door County every summer with a big group of neighbors. Door County is such a beautiful part of the state and has so much to offer, so there was plenty to keep us active. My family doesn’t get to spend much time together now that my brother and I have grown and moved around, so it’s a memory I’ll always cherish.

You’re stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you bring?

Deodorant. Obviously.

A case of Martini Rossi Asti to quench my thirst.

Cast from The Bachelor because those people seem like a party and a half.

I hope I wasn’t judged on this answer. :)

Where is one place you’ve always wanted to go and/or Where is your favorite place you’ve ever visited?

Paris has been my favorite place in the world to visit, but Thailand is a close second. The art, fashion, scents and cuisine found in Paris just mesmerizes me. The Parisians are so effortless, yet so sophisticated and beautiful. Plus, who doesn’t love champagne with a side of French Macaroons?

And since I like this question, I’m answering the other part. South Africa has always been on my bucket list. I hope to get there in the next 5 years, so if you know someone who is interested, find me on twitter – @kulasj – and let’s get planning!

What is your pet peeve?

People who talk during a movie and people who talk while they’re chewing are two big ones. And don’t even get me started on the misuse of your / you’re ; their / they’re / there ; then / than. I need one of those “I’m silently correcting your grammar” t-shirts.

If you won the lottery, what would you do with your winnings?

I’d gift my parents with a trip around the world. While they’re out spending my money, I’d go to the World Cup and make a pit stop in Shenzhen, PRC to visit my best friend and her new baby.

If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?

This is totally cheeseball, but I’d bring happiness to those who needed it. You never know what people are dealing with and sending someone a simple smile can do wonders. Seriously, smile to the person next to you, and let me know what happens.
