All About Scott

Scott, our resident copywriter, is also known as the “Office Cat” due to his signature ability to knock things over and eat other people’s leftovers. With his quick wit and passion for writing, Scott can turn taglines and whip up radio scripts with ease, and is also typically the champion of our pun-off competitions. Aside from his spectacular client work, Scott is also in the process of writing a country song and a thriller screenplay. Warning: Scott is strongly encouraged to avoid staplers at all costs.

Describe a “typical” day at z2 for you.

First I hide from the account execs by watching cartoons in the loft. Once they track me down, I am detained in a dimly-lit holding cell under the supervision of a salty sea captain, where I am forced to come up with clever phrases and puns. I am set free for lunch, a bathroom break, and a single piece of candy in the afternoon if I complete my work.

What’s your favorite Wisconsin activity, pastime or place?

I consider Miller Park my home away from home. I’ve worked in the Brewers promotions department for 6 seasons, and I have not taken a single day for granted. To be at the ballpark, be around the game I love – and get paid to do it – is a dream come true.

Also, there’s nothing like walking into Lambeau Field for a Packers game. Chills every time.

You’re stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you bring?

Tequila, street tacos, and Anna Kendrick

Where is one place you’ve always wanted to go and/or where is your favorite place you’ve ever visited?

I spent nearly two weeks in Israel, and it was one of the most eye-opening and memorable experiences I will ever have. There are so many places I’d love to see – I can think of destinations on pretty much every continent – but probably my first order of business is getting back to Portland and Seattle, where I spent the first 3 years of my life. I don’t remember much of the west coast, but I would very much like to experience it.

What is your pet peeve?

When people misuse “your and you’re”, “there, their and they’re,” etc. These are things we were taught in 3rd grade.

Shocker, right?

Celebrity crush.

See “deserted island.”

If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?

The ability to apparate (or teleport, if you’re a muggle). The opportunity to go anywhere in an instant would allow me to see the world at my leisure, with no expense.

If you were a ghost, where would you haunt?

I don’t know if I would “haunt” any place in the traditional sense. That has negative implications. I would probably just play all sorts of hilarious pranks on people. I would like to be forever dying of laughter.

Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life?

The late Robin Williams. This man used humor as a vehicle to get the most out of life. He made you laugh and, just as important, he made himself laugh. He also had a warm heart and knew how to appreciate life. I’m guessing he would portray me pretty well just by being himself.

“The truth is, if anything, I’m probably addicted to laughter.” – Robin Williams

What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?

“Notion” by Kings of Leon. It has a brief but epic guitar intro that’s sort of distant and echo-y, then makes a splash with its driving rhythm. The beauty is in its simplicity. Hearing it live was an out-of-body experience.

Where’s Waldo?

Waldo exists in an arbitrary quantum state, entangled in the obfuscation of unobservable dimensions.
