Shealeigh

We recently filmed a music video for Shealeigh. Her song “Be Kind” addresses the issue of bullying, and encourages kids to stand up to bullies. We filmed it at The Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, and I can’t confirm this, but we may be the first film crew to fly a drone inside the theater!

“Be Kind” appears on This Time Tomorrow, a compilation of songs from various artists supporting the This Time Tomorrow Foundation. (You can get it from Amazon.)

Shealeigh was great to work with, and it was awesome to see so many of her fans come out to support her and appear in the video. We’re hoping to have the editing done and maybe even throw a little premier party sometime in the beginning of December.

A Look Back: 2010

This Time Tomorrow

This week, our look back will go back even further… to the year 2000 and the start of “This Time Tomorrow.”

In 2000, Cory Zimmermann’s friend and co-worker was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Cory was devastated that he couldn’t do more to help him through a difficult time. The helplessness inspired him to write a song titled “This Time Tomorrow,” which was later made into a music video, and became a vehicle to help people affected by cancer.

Fast forward to 2010 and the 10th anniversary of This Time Tomorrow, and with the help of z2, Cory led the charge to re-record the song, but this time, with a little help from his friends. More than dozen local musicians and vocalists joined in, contributing to the song and video, and many had their own stories of those they knew who had been affected by cancer. It turned out amazing.

But we weren’t done… When z2 gets into a project, we really get into a project. And if it’s for a good cause, that’s all the more reason to get involved, so we started planning a benefit concert featuring more than a half-dozen local bands, all to raise not just money–but awareness–about cancer and those affected by it.

That year, we also saw Deb Zindler named Woman of the Year by the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for our efforts, and then won 7 Telly awards for the video! (Plus a Communitas Award.)

So while 2010 was quite a year for z2 and our charity, 2013 is another big year. On Saturday, October 26th, 2013 is the 4th Annual Benefit Concert and CD Release. It’s a “dress to impress” event, and we’d love to see you there. Besides great live music by Erica Hoyt, Shealeigh, and I’m Not A Pilot, you’ll also see the new video featuring C. Thomas Howell and have a chance to win some impressive auction items, enjoy amazing food & drink, and best of all, help those in need.

It’s party time! Well, almost. At Z2, we appreciate everyone we work with and who supports us—from staff, vendors, and clients to family and friends. For the ninth year, we will be hosting Club Z2 to celebrate all those individuals who have helped make it another amazing year. So, please save the date for this year’s celebration on the evening of Friday, Sept. 14, 2012.

As always, there will be great food, live music all night long—this year’s headliner will be Pinstripe, a local band featuring three musicians from The Toys—plenty of drinks, and tons of fun. New this year, we’ll be collecting donations for the This Time Tomorrow Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps families affected by cancer, founded by our own Cory Zimmermann.

Once again, we’ll be offering free rides from our designated drivers, and you’ll get a special rate at a nearby hotel if you choose to stay the evening in Pewaukee. Please check back for additional updates over the next couple months, and don’t forget to save the date!

Club Z2

There was food, drink, music, and mingling… Another year and another Club z2 is in the can!

Thanks to our clients, vendor, family, and friends for helping us celebrate our eighth year. It’s been a wild ride, and we look forward to the next eight years, at which point Z2 will be 16, and old enough to drive, and then we’ll really be in trouble!

Club Z2 - ZyFy

Here’s our very own Cory performing with his band ZyFy. If you didn’t know, besides being a creative director, photographer, cinematographer, and one of the owners of Z2, he’s also a musician, and performs at Club Z2 each year, as well as various gigs around to in support of the This Time Tomorrow Foundation he helped start. (He’s a busy guy!)

Club Z2 - Willy Porter

We were also privileged to have Willy Porter join us, and he played a great set for the crowd. Thanks for coming out Willy!

Club Z2 - Wine

And yes, there was wine. Lots of wine… And wings, and cupcakes, and a photo booth, and some QR code madness, and… well, if you missed it, you’ll just have to join us next year.

In the meantime, check out some of the Club Z2 photos or the Photo Booth photos, over on our Facebook page.

(And while you’re there, don’t be afraid to ‘Like’ us!)
